Kevin Murphy CA
I started my working life in public practice in Henderson in 1975 and after spending a few years in the public practice environment took a leap across to the corporate world and spent through til 1986 in the commercial environment working both in public and private companies. By 1986 I had decided that my future lay in the Chartered Accountancy world as I enjoyed the variation and challenges that this brought with it. I joined an accountancy practice in 1986 and while all my previous partners have since retired I now find myself along with Andrew responsible for the day to day activity of that practice I joined in 1986.
We enjoy the benefits of being a small team that can turn it's hand to any assignment. We have a varied client base and with technology we find we can assist clients both in and outside the Auckland region.
More recently I have joined the Mindshop business development group and I now enjoy getting alongside my clients building their businesses. I reside in Red Beach just north of Auckland and really enjoy being able to get out of Auckland central for the weekends.
In sport I still have the passion for a game of golf and have been a member of Helensville Golf Club since 1975, though those years I have seen roles of auditor, general committee and more recently Club Captain and currently President.
My skill set I feel is entrenched in the years of experience that I bring to the table, as times change and technology starts to complete all the mundane tasks the accountants role is becoming more that of mentor, advisor and facilitator.
Andrew Ford CA
Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1996 with accounting experience dating back to 1986 with News International in London. Prior to that he came from a farming background near Ruatoria with a 1980 Diploma in Agriculture from Lincoln University! However he obtained a Bachelor of Commerce at Auckland University in 1995. He has had commercial accounting and chartered accounting experience in New Zealand since 1989.
Andrew joined the existing firm in 1996 and joined as an associate in April 1999 and appointed Director on the 1st September 2000.
He resides on Waiheke Island and supports Waiheke Island Accounting clients, a wide range of client types largely based in Auckland plus some spread from Whangarei to Rotorua and a few based overseas.
His strengths include:
- the provision of practical computer and systems advice from recommending appropriate software to documenting and implementing the systems required to best use the technology available.
- advice regarding practical business and tax structures for current and future business and personal requirements.
- experience with Business and Share valuations. Includes valuations for relationship property issues and shareholder disputes.
- audit of small to medium charities and not for profit enterprises.
Kevin and Andrew with their experienced team provide all the conventional accounting and tax compliance services.
